Maintenance Team Leader

Are you an experienced Maintenance Team Leader looking to join one of the UK's leading manufacturing businesses?

We're recruiting on behalf of a major manufacturer within the building materials sector, investing heavily in its engineering function and looking for an experienced leader to drive reliability, safety and continuous improvement across a busy production facility.

The Role

You'll lead a team of engineers on shift while remaining hands-on with both planned and reactive maintenance. Working closely with production, you'll play a key role in maximising plant uptime, improving reliability and ensuring engineering standards remain first class.

Responsibilities

✔ Lead and motivate the maintenance team on shift
✔ Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime
✔ Drive PPM and continuous improvement activities
✔ Support electrical and mechanical fault finding
✔ Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures
✔ Coordinate contractors and maintenance activities
✔ Promote a strong safety-first culture

About You

* Time-served engineer with a Level 3 qualification or equivalent

* Previous supervisory or team leadership experience

* Strong fault-finding ability on automated manufacturing equipment

* PLC knowledge and experience within a heavy manufacturing environment desirable

* Passion for continuous improvement and leading by example
