An SME building services firm is looking to appoint a Mechanical Engineer to join their team, based in Kent, on a part-time basis of 3 days a week.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking for genuine independence and responsibility within a flatter, less hierarchical structure. With fewer layers of management than a larger firm, you'll have direct exposure to clients and projects, clear progression plans, and support towards Chartership.
The Role:
Producing mechanical designs across a range of building services projects
Preparing detailed designs, calculations, and specifications
Taking on greater independence and responsibility in project delivery, with direct client and project exposure
Working closely with colleagues and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification
Coordinating with other disciplines to ensure fully integrated designs
Ensuring designs comply with current building regulations and industry standardsWhat's Required:
A degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
Proven experience in a mechanical building services design role
Strong working knowledge of relevant design software (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD)
Working towards Chartered status (e.g. CIBSE) would be an advantage
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independentlyWhat's on Offer:
Salary of £40,000–£45,000, dependent on experience
3 days a week working pattern
