We are working with a leading provider of decentralised energy solutions to recruit an experienced Site Construction Manager on an 18-month contract (Outside IR35).
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the construction phase of major energy infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the Project Manager, design engineers, subcontractors and suppliers, you'll be responsible for coordinating all on-site activities while maintaining exceptional Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) standards.
The role is predominantly site-based and will involve travel to project locations, along with occasional visits to suppliers for Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and pre-delivery inspections.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all on-site construction activities from mobilisation through to project completion.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel.
Ensure all works comply with CDM Regulations, SHEQ requirements and company procedures.
Monitor programme progress and resolve issues to keep projects on schedule.
Inspect works to ensure compliance with approved designs, Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
Liaise with Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineers to resolve design clashes and support project delivery.
Plan and coordinate labour, plant and resources to maximise efficiency.
Manage all temporary works safely and effectively.
Issue and manage Permits to Work and Safe Systems of Work throughout the construction phase.
Deliver daily site briefings, toolbox talks and regular safety audits.
Maintain excellent communication with clients, suppliers and project stakeholders.
Support the successful commercial and technical delivery of projects.About You
ONC/OND, NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
SMSTS, NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
Valid CSCS Card.
Minimum of 5 years' experience delivering mechanical and/or electrical construction projects.
Strong understanding of CDM Regulations, Health & Safety legislation and ISO Quality standards.
Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multi-disciplinary construction projects.
Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills.
Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Full UK Driving Licence.Desirable

Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor qualification.
Previous experience delivering power generation, industrial, energy or large-scale infrastructure projects.This is a fantastic opportunity to secure an 18-month, Outside IR35 contract with a well-established organisation delivering major energy infrastructure projects across the UK. You'll be joining an experienced project team, working on technically challenging installations, and playing a key role in the successful delivery of a significant project.
