Site Manager – Guernsey
Please note: this role requires the successful candidate to live and work on the island of Guernsey.
We are working on behalf of an established main contractor with a strong and varied portfolio across Guernsey and Jersey, spanning education, hotel and leisure, residential, commercial and healthcare projects. They are now looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to lead day-to-day delivery on one of their live sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all on-site activity, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standard
* Manage subcontractors and direct labour, coordinating trades and sequencing of works
* Maintain robust health, safety and environmental standards on site, including toolbox talks and site inspections
* Liaise with the project manager, design team and client representatives on progress and technical matters
* Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, RAMS and quality documentation
* Support programme and resource planning in conjunction with the wider project team
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Proven experience as a Site Manager on commercial, residential or public sector construction projects
* Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice
* SMSTS and CSCS (Black or Gold card) essential; First Aid at Work desirable
* Confident, hands-on leadership style with the ability to manage multiple trades
* Well organised, with strong attention to programme and quality
* Comfortable working within a close-knit island construction market
