Quantity Surveyor
£50,000 - £60,000 + Excellent Benefits
Our client is an innovative and growing construction business delivering high-quality residential projects through modern methods of construction. With a strong reputation for delivering sustainable and efficient housing solutions, they work across a range of residential developments and continue to expand their project portfolio.
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of residential construction projects from procurement through to final account. Working closely with the wider project team, you will help ensure projects are delivered successfully while maintaining strong cost control and commercial performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with residential experience to join a forward-thinking business where you will have the opportunity to work on innovative construction projects and play a key role within the commercial function.
Responsibilities
Manage the commercial delivery of residential construction projects.
Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans and forecasts.
Handle procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare, review and negotiate subcontractor packages.
Manage valuations, payments, variations and final accounts.
Monitor project costs and identify potential risks or opportunities.
Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
Provide accurate commercial reporting to senior management.
Manage change control processes and ensure variations are correctly valued.
Support cost planning and estimating activities where required.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
Ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual and commercial requirements. Requirements
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor working within the construction industry.
Strong background delivering residential projects.
Experience working for a main contractor, developer, or specialist construction business.
Modular, offsite or MMC experience would be highly desirable but is not essential.
Strong understanding of construction costs, procurement and contract management.
Experience managing subcontractor accounts, variations and final accounts.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Strong commercial awareness with a proactive approach.
Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a wider team. Rewards & Benefits
