We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming secondary school for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a mainstream setting. This is a full-time role starting in September, offering the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people every day.

You will work closely with teachers and the school's SEND team, providing one-to-one and small group support for students with a range of additional needs, including autism, dyslexia, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Your role will be to help students engage in learning, build confidence and achieve their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities

Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in school life.
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of needs, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Work alongside class teachers to adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual student needs.
Encourage students' independence, confidence and resilience, helping them develop effective learning strategies.
Promote positive behaviour and support students to develop appropriate social and emotional skills.

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children or young people - this is essential.
Is patient, caring and able to build positive relationships.
Has an understanding of supporting students with SEN, particularly autism, dyslexia and SEMH needs.
Is confident supporting students both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
