Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, supporting the delivery of high-profile energy and infrastructure projects across the South West. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex schemes while managing the commercial aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Job Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of multiple projects, working closely with Project Managers and the wider commercial team to maximise profitability and ensure contractual compliance. You'll be responsible for managing subcontractor accounts, administering compensation events, preparing commercial reports, monitoring project risks, and maintaining accurate financial forecasts. The role also involves identifying variations and claims, attending project meetings, and ensuring all commercial activities are delivered in line with company procedures and Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within utilities, energy, civil engineering or infrastructure
Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations, claims and final accounts
Experience administering compensation events and commercial change control
Strong financial reporting, forecasting and cost management experience
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
