THE BUSINESS
Westray Recruitment Group are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to join a well-established engineering business based in Blyth.
This is a varied, hands-on position that will see you supporting the day-to-day running of a busy assembly facility. Working closely with the Site Coordinator and Stores Coordinator, you will help ensure the site remains safe, organised and operating efficiently.
The role would suit someone with strong general maintenance experience who enjoys problem solving, takes pride in maintaining high standards and is happy supporting wider warehouse and stores activities when required.
THE ROLE
As a Facilities Maintenance Coordinator, your duties will include:
Carrying out general building and site maintenance, including minor plumbing, joinery, fabrication and basic repairs where competent
Responding to reactive maintenance issues across the facility
Completing routine inspections and identifying maintenance requirements before they become larger issues
Supporting ongoing site improvement and installation projects
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
Assisting with moving materials, equipment and stock around site using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck
Supporting the Stores team with loading, unloading and material movements as required
Carrying out general workshop support duties to ensure the facility operates efficiently
Ensuring all work is completed in line with Health & Safety procedures
Recording completed maintenance work and reporting any issues identified
Please note that this role is approximately:
15–20% facilities maintenance
80–85% stores support, material movements and general site assistance
THE PERSON
You will be:
Experienced within a facilities maintenance, maintenance operative or handyman-style role
Practical, proactive and able to turn your hand to a wide variety of maintenance tasks
Comfortable working independently and prioritising your workload
A strong communicator with a positive, can-do attitude
Happy supporting both maintenance and warehouse/stores activities
Flexible and reliable with excellent attention to detail
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Valid external RTITB or ITSSAR Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence
Previous experience carrying out general maintenance within a commercial, industrial or manufacturing environment
Full UK Driving Licence
Good understanding of Health & Safety practices
Physically fit and comfortable working in a hands-on environment
DESIRABLE
Telehandler licence
MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) licence
Basic fabrication or welding experience
Previous experience within engineering, manufacturing or industrial facilities
