Senior Design Engineer | Remote | Competitive Salary

Fancy putting your name to the next generation of connector technology used in mission-critical aerospace and defence applications? This Senior Design Engineer role is a genuine chance to take technical ownership from concept through to production, not just contribute to someone else's design.

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will benefit from:

Fully remote working with the flexibility to structure your own day
The chance to lead technical decision-making on high-profile development projects
Exposure to international, cross-functional engineering teams
Real influence over next-generation aerospace and defence technology
Ongoing professional development and progression opportunities
A supportive management structure that backs your technical judgement
As a Senior Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Leading the design and development of interconnect solutions for aerospace, defence, and other high-reliability applications
Creating detailed connector, contact, cable and latching mechanism designs using 3D and 2D CAD software
Conducting design reviews backed by engineering calculations, simulation and testing
Overseeing prototype builds and coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers
Performing DFMEA and risk assessments in line with AS9100 requirements
Providing technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers throughout the product lifecycle
As a Senior Design Engineer, your experience will include:

Mechanical Engineering degree (Master's preferred)
5 to 7 years' experience within aerospace, defence, military, or other high-reliability industries
A proven track record of bringing products from concept to market
Strong CAD experience, ideally in SolidWorks
Working knowledge of FEA tools such as ANSYS and Mold Flow analysis
Understanding of electrical engineering principles relating to connectors, contacts and cable systems
Due to the nature of this role, candidates must be UK citizens; sponsorship is not available
If you're looking for a Senior Design Engineer role where your technical expertise is genuinely valued and where you can see your designs through from first sketch to finished product, this could be the next step. Apply today with an up-to-date CV or call Josh Hill at Rubicon for more information
