Hours: 40 - Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm
Salary: £28,121.60 per annum

We're looking for a motivated Navy Researcher to join our Physical Services team within Restore Information Management at our Swadlincote site. This is a great opportunity to become part of a business that plays a vital role in helping customers manage, protect and secure their information every day.
In this role, you will support the handling of Royal Navy service records, military archives and historical ledgers. Combining warehouse operations with records research, you'll retrieve, organise and preserve valuable document, playing a vital role in safeguarding and providing access to Britain's naval history.

Key Responsibilities

Track, check and protect customer information through careful handling and indexing of records.
Complete and maintain accurate paperwork in line with documented procedures.
Research naval service records and historical ledgers.
Assist people seeking information about family members who served during the World Wars.
Examine archives, historical documents and military records.
Produce accurate and well-organised research reports.
Help preserve and share important family and naval history.
Utilise our Records Management system to manage records efficiently.
Record and store incoming boxes, files and documents in designated warehouse locations.
Handle archive boxes and materials using safe working practices and equipment provided
Maintain confidentiality and data security standards
Support operational targets and service delivery
Follow health and safety procedures at all times
What we are looking for

A positive team player who can also work independently, follow processes and take responsibility for their work.
A willingness to support other operational teams by completing data entry, scanning, storing and indexing tasks accurately.
Someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, active warehouse environment where no two days are the same.
A dependable and committed individual who takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
Good organisation skills, with the ability to manage workload and complete tasks within agreed timescales.
Confident in recording and sorting high volume of incoming files and boxes (Essential)
Able to stand for extended periods. (Essential)
Physically comfortable to use a trolley safely to move multiple boxes (typically 5-6 at a time). (Essential)
Confident in carrying out physical tasks, including lifting, wrapping pallets, sorting, moving materials safely and repetitive handling of boxes weighing approximately up to 5kg. (Essential)
Able to securely handle materials and data in line with safety and confidentiality standards, ensuring no breaches or violations. (Essential)
Someone who has basic Computer and communication skills to follow instructions, read labels and safety information, and to complete data entry tasks. (Essential)
Experience researching and analysing historical archives, naval service records and military documentation, with the ability to produce accurate reports and support individuals seeking information about family members who served during the World Wars while helping to preserve important naval and family history. (Essential)
