We are currently recruiting on behalf of a respected Housing Association in Staffordshire for an experienced Temporary Lettings Officer to support the team during a busy period. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in housing allocations and lettings who can hit the ground running.
This is initially a short-term temporary assignment with hybrid working, offering a mix of home working, office-based duties, and regular visits across the housing patch.
Key Responsibilities of a Lettings Officer:
Manage the end-to-end lettings process, ensuring properties are allocated efficiently and in line with policy.
Assess housing applications and determine applicants' priority in accordance with the organisation's allocations policy.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of housing banding and priority need criteria to ensure fair and compliant allocations.
Liaise with applicants, internal departments, and external agencies throughout the lettings process.
Coordinate property viewings and sign-ups where required.
Maintain accurate housing management records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal procedures.
Support the reduction of void turnaround times by progressing allocations promptly.
Build positive relationships with customers while delivering an excellent level of service.About You:
Previous experience working as a Lettings Officer, Allocations Officer, Housing Officer, or in a similar role within social housing.
A solid understanding of housing allocations, banding systems, and priority need assessments.
Knowledge of relevant housing legislation and best practice.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy and varied workload.
Experience using housing management systems is desirable.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.What's on Offer?
