Assistant Quantity Surveyor | Prime / Heritage - Country Estate - Somerset - 2-year project
If you've ever thought, "There's got to be more to surveying than updating spreadsheets and chasing invoices"... you're probably right.
We're looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join an experienced commercial team on a unique private estate, working across everything from listed building restorations and high-end refurbishments to new-build and infrastructure projects.
You'll be working closely with a Senior QS who'll actually let you get involved (rather than guarding the interesting work like it's the last biscuit in the office).
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor would expect to get hands-on with:
• Procurement
• Measurements and valuations
• Variations
• Cost reporting
• Payments
• Final accounts
• And learning why the phrase "it's only a small change" rarely ends well.
We're not expecting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who's seen it all.
Maybe you've completed a placement year. Maybe you've got a year or two under your belt. Maybe you're in your first QS role but not learning as much as you'd hoped.
What matters most is that you're keen to learn, enjoy solving problems and want to become the kind of Quantity Surveyor who spots commercial issues before they become expensive ones.
Would welcome people with Tier 1 and regional principal contractor backgrounds, would very much welcome people with high-end resi / hotels experience.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to tell you more.
Confidential conversations welcome.
