Quantity Surveyor – Residential Developer
Location: Edinburgh / East of Scotland
Salary: Competitive salary and benefits package
Peace Recruitment is working with a multi-award-winning residential developer that is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to its established commercial team in Edinburgh.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected, quality-led developer with an exciting pipeline of residential projects across the East of Scotland. The business offers a supportive working environment, genuine career progression and the chance to work on high-quality developments from pre-construction through to completion.
The client is open to Quantity Surveyors from housebuilding, civil engineering, consultancy/PQS, or Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contracting backgrounds. Ideally, you will have at least two years of post-graduate experience and an interest in developing your career within residential development.
Key responsibilities
* Managing project costs from pre-construction through to final account
* Preparing budgets, forecasts and cost reports
* Procuring and appointing subcontractors
* Managing subcontractor payments and variations
* Monitoring project performance and commercial risk
* Producing valuations and regular CVR reports
* Working closely with construction, technical and procurement teams
* Supporting value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
* Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to the required standard
About you
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
* Ideally, at least two years of post-graduate experience
* Experience within housebuilding, civil engineering, consultancy/PQS or main contracting
* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Confident communication and negotiation skills
* Able to manage priorities and work effectively as part of a wider project team
* Keen to build a long-term career with a respected residential developer
