Job Title: Learning Support Assistant – Supporting Health & Social Care
Location: Kensington (5 min walk from Ladbroke Grove station)
Salary: £130/£135 per day (Umbrella)
Days: 4 days (excluding Wednesday)
Hours: 8.30am – 4.30pm
Contract Type: 1 year agency contract – Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 – until July 2027
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a highly supportive and successful team based within a 6th Form College. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO and teachers to support pupils’ learning, particularly those with additional needs, ensuring every child can reach their full potential. The college appoints on subject specialism basis and assigns you to work with students following subjects matching your background. This could be related to your academic qualifications or industry experience.
I appreciate you may be looking for a teaching role, but please be aware career progression is offered at this college, there may be openings for teaching positions following completion of this role, alternatively there may also be opportunities to work within the pastoral department. Permanent contracts as an LSA could also be considered following a successful year.
Key Responsibilities
· Support individual pupils or small groups in the classroom
· Assist in the delivery of tailored learning programmes
· Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
· Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN), social, emotional, or behavioural challenges
· Prepare learning materials and classroom resources
· Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers
· Promote independence and confidence in learners
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Is competent in supporting BTEC up to Level 3
Has experience working with children or young people (in school or similar setting
Is patient, caring, and enthusiastic about supporting learning
Has good communication and teamwork skills
Can adapt to the individual needs of pupils
Has a basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training can be provided)
Subject areas requiring support
· BTEC Health & Social Care
You must hold a DBS on the update service or hold a brand new copy.
