Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000+ (DOE & MRICS Status)
Location: Glasgow or Edinburgh (Hybrid Working)

Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established and growing cost management consultancy with offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Due to continued expansion and a strong pipeline of work, the business is looking to strengthen its team with an ambitious Quantity Surveyor capable of independently managing projects across a diverse portfolio.

The consultancy delivers cost management services across a wide range of sectors including commercial, industrial, residential, public sector and community developments, with projects ranging from smaller schemes through to major developments exceeding £100 million.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established consultancy that places a strong emphasis on professional development, long-term career progression and achieving the highest standards of client service.

Job Requirements

* Minimum of 5 years' experience within a Quantity Surveying / PQS consultancy environment

* Experience independently managing projects from pre-contract through to final account

* Strong knowledge of cost planning, procurement, tendering and contract administration

* Excellent client-facing, communication and stakeholder management skills

* MRICS qualified desirable, although candidates working towards APC are strongly encouraged to apply

* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits

* Strong commercial awareness with excellent organisational and reporting skills

* Stable employment history with a commitment to long-term career development

Salary & Benefits

* Salary: £45,000 - £50,000+ (DOE & MRICS Status)

* Hybrid working (4 days office / 1 day home working following onboarding)

* Full RICS APC and membership sponsorship

* Support from two in-house APC Assessors

* Glasgow city centre parking permit (circa £1,000 value) or mileage allowance (approximately 50-55p per mile)

* Flexible public holidays (excluding Christmas and Easter)

* Birthday day off

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver full pre and post-contract quantity surveying services across a varied project portfolio

* Prepare cost plans, Bills of Quantities, tender documentation and tender evaluations

* Produce monthly valuations, cost reports and financial progress updates

* Independently manage multiple projects from inception through to final account

* Attend regular site visits, progress meetings and client meetings

* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and project teams

* Work closely with senior management to ensure successful project delivery

* Support junior team members and contribute to the continued growth of the business
