Teaching Assistant - Year 2 Maths, English & Phonics Interventions - September 2026 - Haringey
A welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Haringey is seeking a motivated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 2 team from September 2026.
The school is holding trial days during the first week back and is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with younger learners and making a positive impact through targeted intervention work.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will deliver focused Maths, English and Phonics interventions to Year 2 pupils, helping children strengthen the core skills needed as they progress through Key Stage 1. The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher, supporting pupils in small groups while helping to create an engaging and positive learning environment.
This Teaching Assistant position is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates and Psychology graduates who are looking to build valuable classroom experience within a supportive Primary School.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
Delivering Maths interventions as a Teaching Assistant
Leading English intervention groups as a Teaching Assistant
Supporting Phonics sessions to improve early literacy skills
Working with small groups of Year 2 pupils as a Teaching Assistant
Helping pupils develop confidence and independence
Supporting the class teacher with assessment and pupil progress
Building positive relationships with pupils and staff as a Teaching Assistant
Contributing to an inclusive and engaging classroom environment
