This rewarding opportunity focuses on teaching Post-16 learners with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC/ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and complex communication needs, including non-verbal pupils. The provision offers a calm, structured and nurturing environment where learners are supported to develop independence, communication skills and confidence for adulthood.

Teach young people with Autism (ASC/ASD), SEMH, complex needs and non-verbal communication profiles.

Create differentiated learning programmes centred around EHCP outcomes.

Support learners to develop communication, emotional regulation, independence and employability skills.

Use visual timetables, PECS, Makaton, AAC devices and sensory strategies where appropriate.

Promote life skills, functional literacy and numeracy, social communication and preparation for adulthood.

Work collaboratively with therapists, teaching assistants and external professionals.

Create a calm, inclusive learning environment that enables every learner to succeed.

Celebrate every milestone, recognising that progress looks different for every individual.

About You

Is confident supporting pupils with SEMH using positive behaviour strategies.

Is patient, resilient, empathetic and passionate about specialist education.

Enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
