Hours: 08:00-17:00| Monday-Friday
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an innovative and rapidly growing manufacturing business operating within the biotechnology sector. We are seeking a Fermentation / Chemical Process Operator to support production activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operation of fermentation and processing equipment.
This role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies while contributing to the scale-up of sustainable manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate fermentation, processing, and manufacturing equipment in line with standard procedures.
* Monitor process performance and maintain product quality standards.
* Clean, sanitise, and maintain production equipment and vessels.
* Complete batch records and production documentation accurately.
* Carry out routine sampling and support quality activities.
* Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate where required.
* Maintain high standards of health & safety, GMP, hygiene, and housekeeping.
* Support continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
* Strong understanding of chemical and factory safety.
* Experience or knowledge of laboratory, chemical, or manufacturing processes.
* Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
* Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
* Willingness to work rotating shifts as operations expand.
* Adaptable and eager to learn.
Desirable:
* Experience within biotechnology, fermentation, chemical, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or bioprocessing environments.
* Previous experience operating production plant or automated process equipment.
* Food or beverage manufacturing.
* Pharmaceutical manufacturing.
