Pay: £32,000 Basic Salary + 20% Shift Allowance (£38,400 Equivalent Earnings)
Hours/Shift Pattern: 3 x 12-Hour Shifts | 24/7 Rotating Pattern
We're looking for a technically minded individual to join a busy operations and engineering team supporting a modern passenger rail fleet.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys fault finding, problem solving, and making decisions in a fast-paced environment. Working primarily from a control room setting, you'll play a key role in responding to in-service faults, supporting operational teams, and helping keep services running safely and reliably.
The Role
You'll act as a central point of contact when faults occur, working closely with drivers, controllers, and maintenance teams to assess issues and coordinate the appropriate response.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond to train faults and service disruptions
* Provide technical support and fault diagnosis
* Coordinate with operational and maintenance teams
* Log and analyse faults using maintenance systems
* Support fleet reliability and performance improvements
* Produce reports and maintain accurate records
* Ensure safety, quality, and compliance standards are met
About You
* Experience in an engineering, maintenance, technical support, or operational environment
* Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
* Good understanding of electrical, mechanical, or vehicle systems
* Comfortable communicating with a range of stakeholders
* Able to make decisions and remain calm under pressure
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification desirable
