Quantity Surveyor - Planned Maintenance & Social Housing
Location: Hertfordshire (with weekly visits to site)
Salary - Up to £65,000
Daniel Owen are partnering with a leading contractor in the social housing sector to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established commercial team delivering planned maintenance and refurbishment works across residential properties, apartment blocks and high-rise buildings.
Working on a long-term framework, you'll take ownership of the commercial performance of multiple projects while building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Take commercial responsibility for a planned maintenance framework from project commencement through to final account.
Manage the financial performance of refurbishment works across residential and social housing properties.
Produce cost plans, pricing submissions and valuations for client approval.
Prepare applications for payment, manage variations and maintain accurate CVRs and cash flow forecasts.
Procure, negotiate and manage subcontractor packages to achieve best value.
Monitor project costs, identify commercial risks and implement cost-saving opportunities.
Work closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders throughout project delivery.
Ensure accurate commercial reporting and contractual compliance across all projects.About You
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor within planned maintenance, refurbishment or social housing.
Strong commercial awareness with experience managing valuations, variations, CVRs and cost reporting.
Knowledge of framework contracts, with NHF Schedule of Rates or target cost frameworks being advantageous.
Confident managing subcontractor procurement and commercial negotiations.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and commercial management software.
Full UK driving licence.What's on Offer
