Building Surveyor (Minor Works)
£40,000 + Progression + Training + Company Benefits + Hybrid Working + Bonus Scheme
Edinburgh, Ideally Located: Musselburgh, Dalkeith, Tranent, Bonnyrigg, Penicuik, Glasgow, Livingston, Queens Ferry, Dunfermline
Are you a Building Surveyor, Architectural Technician, or Technical Surveyor with experience in refurbishment, minor works, or existing building projects looking to join a growing engineering and technology consultancy?
On offer is the opportunity to provide technical and building surveying expertise across a diverse property portfolio, supporting the planning, design, and delivery of refurbishment, fit-out, and upgrade projects from early concept stages through to delivery.
This independent engineering and technology consultancy delivers projects across the built environment, infrastructure, and energy sectors, supporting clients with complex asset portfolios and helping organisations maintain, upgrade, and optimise their facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out site inspections, condition surveys, and technical assessments across a range of properties. You will identify defects, develop scopes of work, support feasibility studies, and provide practical design solutions that ensure projects are compliant, buildable, and delivered efficiently.
This position is ideal for a Building Surveyor, Architectural Technician, or similar professional with experience working on refurbishment, minor works, and upgrade projects within existing buildings, looking for a varied role with autonomy and exposure to a wide range of technically challenging projects.
The Role:
Technical & Building Surveyor within a growing engineering and technology consultancy
Carrying out condition surveys, inspections, and building assessments across a variety of properties
Developing scopes of work, specifications, and technical reports for refurbishment and minor works projects
Supporting projects through early design stages (RIBA 0-4) with UK-wide travel required for occasional site visitsThe Person:
Experience in a Building Surveyor, Architectural Technician, or similar technical role
Background in construction, property, infrastructure, or the built environment
Strong experience with condition surveys, building defects, and refurbishment projects
Knowledge of UK building regulations, planning requirements, and compliance standards
Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software
