Salary: £26,650 - £30,000

Permanent, 37 hours per week

The Vacancy

Love organising events, bringing people together and making a difference? We are looking for an enthusiastic and people-focused Community Engagement Officer to help create stronger, happier communities across our neighbourhoods.

Introduction to the role

If you are someone who enjoys meeting new people, planning activities, supporting others and seeing the positive impacts your work can have, this could be the perfect role for you!

Role purpose

At Chime Housing, we believe thriving communities are built by the people who live in them – that’s where you come in.

What’s the role?

No two days are the same in this role. One day you could be helping organise a community event, the next working with local groups to secure funding, meeting residents to hear their ideas, or creating opportunities for people to get more involved in their neighborhood.

Key Accountabilities:

* Help plan and deliver community events and activities.

* Build relationships with residents, community groups and local partners.

* Support people to have a voice in shaping local services and projects.

* Help community organisations access funding, training and development opportunities.

* Promote projects and share positive stories from our communities.

* Collect feedback and measure the impact of engagement activities.

* Support people to improve their digital skills and confidence.

* Work with residents to develop ideas that make neighbourhoods better places to live in.

* Be a champion for inclusion, ensuring everyone has opportunities to get involved.

What are we looking for?

Essential:

* Friendly and personable approach

* Great communicator

* Confident working with different people and communities

* Organised and able to manage multiple projects

* Comfortable using digital tools and Microsoft Office

* Passionate about creating positive community change

* Able to work independently and as part of a team

* Full driving licence and access to a car

Desirable:

* Experience in community work, events, customer service, volunteering, youth work, charities, social action, resident engagement or similar roles would be beneficial

What can we offer you?

* 28 days’ annual leave (pro rata)

* Employer pension contribution of up to 11%

* Development opportunities

* Comprehensive employee rewards scheme

How we work

We embrace agile working — blending time in our communities, shared spaces, and remote working. With digital technology at the heart of our approach, we empower teams and individuals to work flexibly.
