Project Accountant

NESFircroft are working on behalf of a global power technology client actively sourcing for a Project Accountant on a contract basis to join their growing high voltage transformer business unit. With a presence in over 90 countries this client offer products, systems & software solutions to the global energy industry and have been leaders in innovation for over a century. The ideal candidate would be able to provide forecasting, budgeting, analytics, monthly reporting & implementing process improvements. Support the local finance team on orders booking, project reviews and have working knowledge within SAP. This role will be a hybrid role of remote and office working from our clients engineering HUB in Stone Staffordshire.

Key details:
Rate: circa £30 per hour
Contract: Inside IR35 (PAYE or Umbrella)
Location: Stone, Staffordshire – 3 days onsite (Flex)
Hours: 37.5 per week

Main Responsibilities
Prepare journals and accruals
Prepare overhead allocations
Reconcile and review key balance sheet accounts e.g. stock, provisions
Resolve errors
Provide month end Abacus reporting support (input to Abacus by SAS)
Balance sheet reconciliation and review
Prepare cost centre correction journals (where required)
Headcount reconciliation and reporting
Sales expenses variance analysis
Provide local finance and accounting support to the business
Cash flow forecasts
Manage and review the FX forward contracts
Manage intra-business recharges
Provide support to the annual budget and rolling forecast processes
Support Annual budget process
Prepare local cost centre budgets for input to SAP
Update the monthly rolling forecast in BI
Provide ad-hoc reporting, troubleshooting and analysis when required
Provide support to GBS with the completion of the Abacus reporting packs
Act as focal point for day-to-day FI/CO enquiries from GBS
Assist with the development of local management reports
Prepare backup info for External
Criteria
Essential
Qualified or Part-qualified CIMA, ACCA or similar
Experience in an Accounting or Controlling environment
Good understanding of SAP FI and CO modules
Advanced Excel skills essential (must be able to demonstrate use of pivot tables, look-ups and filters)
Excellent organisational skills
