Electrical Technician
Location: East London
Rate: £39.29 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 6-month rolling contract
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join a specialist marine engineering team maintaining vessels and associated shoreside infrastructure. This is a hands-on role focused on electrical maintenance, fault finding and ensuring the safe, reliable operation of a busy ferry service.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance and inspections.
Diagnose, fault-find and repair electrical and electronic systems.
Maintain vessel power systems, switchboards and docking infrastructure.
Support PLC and control system troubleshooting.
Complete maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Essential Requirements
Level 2 Electrical NVQ (or equivalent).
Experience working in a marine or maritime electrical environment.
Strong electrical maintenance, diagnostics and fault-finding skills.
Knowledge of marine electrical and electronic power systems.
Good understanding of electrical safety and risk management.
Desirable
Electrical Technical Officer (ETO) experience.
PLC troubleshooting.
Knowledge of DC switchboards, converter drives and marine electrical standards.This is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled engineering team supporting a critical transport operation on a long-term rolling contract.
