The Company:

They have successfully completed projects within the; commercial, industrial, education/higher education, blue light, leisure and multi storey residential sectors. They have also worked on Listed buildings.

They have excellent relationships with their clients that means they enjoy a good proportion of repeat, negotiated business and are also members of a number of key public sector, procurement frameworks.

They are cash rich, typically make double digit margins on their projects, have an excellent supply chain who they pay promptly and treat with respect (we know this from personal experience) and staff turnover is very low.

The Role:

They now have a really rare opportunity for someone to join their team at Managing QS level due to a couple of internal promotions.

Managing a small team of Senior Quantity Surveyors, QSs, Assistants and Trainees you will have commercial responsibility for a number of projects.

You will work closely and collaboratively with their clients, provide support to your QSs and will get involved in some of the more technically challenging projects offering support to the team.

Ideally, they would like to recruit an established Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager who has worked on varied projects and has had responsibility to oversee more junior members of staff but are also willing to consider applications from those at Senior QS level who are ready to progress to Managing QS level (they will support someone through this process).

Key responsibilities will include the following;

Managing the team to ensure all commercial and contractual requirements are considered on the designated projects in accordance with the company procedures and processes, ensuring sound financial performance.

Oversee Cost Planning and other early-stage cost advice.

Oversee monthly cost reports.

Provide contractual advice and guidance.

Advise on the appointment of Contractors in accordance with Company Procedures.

Work closely with the Commercial Director, Commercial Managers and other Managing QSs to ensure sound commercial performance.

Liaise with Precon, Operations and Technical teams to review and monitor project costs and performance.

You:

You will have worked as a Managing Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor working on building projects previously.

You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West daily.

You will be IT contractually aware.

Rewards:

You will receive a good salary and benefits package including a very achievable bonus.

This role is with one of the most admired building contractors in the North West.

You will be working with a forward thinking, successful construction group who can provide a challenging and supportive working environment.

As a growing NW region there are often opportunities for progression
