Build Quality into Mission-Critical Engineering
TXM Recruit is supporting a leading UK defence engineering organisation in the appointment of a Quality Assurance Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, helping ensure complex parts and assemblies meet demanding quality, engineering, and customer requirements. You will create robust Control Plans from engineering drawings, manage non-conformances from initial containment through to effective root cause corrective action, and contribute quality expertise during design and drawing reviews.
Key Responsibilities
Generate detailed Control Plans for manufactured parts and assemblies.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation.
Manage non-conformances from containment and quarantine through to closure.
Lead or support Root Cause and Corrective Action activities.
Ensure corrective actions are robust, timely and effective.
Participate in design reviews and engineering drawing reviews.
Identify potential quality risks before products enter production.
Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production teams to resolve quality issues.
Support continuous improvement across products and manufacturing processes.
Maintain quality records in accordance with AS9100 and business requirements.About You
You will ideally bring:
Experience within an AS9100-regulated manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of quality assurance and non-conformance management.
Experience producing and maintaining Control Plans.
Practical knowledge of RCCA and structured problem-solving methods.
The ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
The ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.Experience within aerospace, defence or another complex engineering sector would be advantageous. Knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection, SAP or a comparable ERP system, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement tools would also be beneficial. An HNC, HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing or Quality is desirable.
