Android Mobile Engineer

£575 per day | Inside IR35 | Occasional travel to Manchester

We're looking for an experienced Android Mobile Engineer to join a collaborative product team building high-quality mobile applications used by millions of users.

Working alongside Product Managers, Designers and Engineers, you'll help shape technical solutions from discovery through to delivery. This is an opportunity to work on large-scale consumer products, delivering robust mobile applications using modern Android technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to shape solutions and deliver excellent user experiences.

• Contribute to technical design, estimation and sprint planning.

• Build scalable, maintainable applications using modern Android architecture patterns.

• Write clean, well-tested code with a strong focus on quality.

• Support applications throughout the full development life cycle, from development through to production.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.

• Participate in code reviews and share technical knowledge across the team.

Essential Skills

• Extensive commercial experience developing native Android applications.

• Strong Kotlin development experience.

• Excellent experience with Jetpack Compose.

• Strong understanding of modern Android architecture patterns and state management.

• Experience building and maintaining large-scale mobile applications.

• Experience working directly with Product and Design teams.

• Strong testing mindset, including unit and UI testing.

• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.

• Comfortable contributing to technical design, estimation and delivery planning.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Accessibility and inclusive design.

• GitHub and GitHub Actions.

• Google Play Console.

• Charles Proxy.

• Analytics and debugging platforms.

• Continuous Discovery or experimentation-led development.

• Experience delivering products with large user bases and frequent release cycles.
