Employment Type: Temporary, ongoing assessment with chances of becoming permanent, Term-time only, August start
Hours: fleixable hours availability (32h, 25h or 16h per week)
Salary: £17,50 per hour via Umbrella

Are you a compassionate and proactive support professional driven by the belief that every learner deserves a pathway to independence? We are seeking Learning Support Assistants to join our vibrant, inclusive, and forward-thinking further education community.

This role is about more than classroom assistance; it is about empowering students to remove barriers to their learning and participation. Working with a deeply person-centred and nurturing approach, you will help young people build the autonomy, resilience, and confidence they need to achieve higher aspirations in life, learning, and future work.

Benefits:

Secure a stable, hourly contract tailored to your lifestyle with 16-hour, 25-hour, or 32-hour weekly options available across both of our accessible campuses.

Gain professional growth and peace of mind with fully funded, college-provided Moving & Handling and medical safety training.

Start with an ongoing placement that holds strong potential to extend for the full academic year or evolve into a permanent staff position.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-impact in-class and out-of-class assistance to individuals and groups.

Adapt and develop accessible learning materials and resources before lessons to meet specific profiles, focusing primarily on students with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs.

Support students comfortably with personal care and physical needs, maintaining the utmost respect, safety, and dignity at all times.

Collaborate closely with curriculum staff to review, log, and adapt classroom strategies via student ILPs and progress tracking systems.

Requirements:

Must possess a valid, clean Enhanced DBS certificate registered for both the Child and Adult workforces.

Level 2 (GCSE Grade A*-C / 4 or above) or equivalent recognised qualifications in both English and Maths. A dedicated qualification in Learning Support is highly desirable.

Prior experience supporting young people in a learning or care environment. Experience within a Further Education setting is highly ideal, though backgrounds supporting Key Stage 4 (Year 10+) or Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) will be warmly considered.

Even if you don't meet every single criteria listed, if you are a resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting students and a willingness to learn, we would still love to hear from you.
