An established and highly respected marine engineering business is looking to recruit an experienced Marine Engineerto join its team based in Cookham-on-Thames. With decades of expertise supporting the marine industry, the company specialises in servicing, repairs, diagnostics and maintenance for a wide range of boats and marine engines.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys fault-finding, working on premium marine engines and delivering exceptional workmanship both in the workshop and on customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out mechanical and electrical servicing, repairs and maintenance on boats and marine engines.
* Diagnose faults and determine the root cause of operational issues.
* Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
* Order replacement parts and complete repairs efficiently.
* Work both in the workshop and at customer locations.
* Support the Marine Engineer Supervisor with additional engineering duties as required.
* Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
* Previous mechanical or engineering experience (essential).
* Marine engineering experience (preferred).
* Experience working on Volvo Penta and/or Yanmar marine engines is highly desirable.
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
* A practical, methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
* GCSEs (or equivalent).
* A full UK driving licence (essential).
