Marine Resources are currently recruiting for a Contract Marine Engineer to support a busy vessel fit out programme on the Isle of Wight.
This is a hands-on engineering position working as part of a skilled build team carrying out the installation, alignment and commissioning of propulsion and onboard systems on vessels.
Key Responsibilities
Installation and fit out of marine propulsion systems
Installation and commissioning of dual systems
Engine installation and alignment
Shaft installation and alignment
Propeller installation and set up
Mechanical fit out of vessel systems and associated equipment
Supporting commissioning and sea trial activities where required
Working from engineering drawings and technical documentation
Maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality throughout the build processSuitable Experience
Previous experience as a Marine Engineer, Mechanical Fitter or Fit Out Engineer within boat building or marine refit environments
Strong understanding of propulsion systems and drivetrain installation
Experience installing and aligning engines, shafts and propellers
Ability to work from engineering drawings and specifications
Experience with commercial vessels, workboats or leisure craft would be advantageous
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project teamWhat's on Offer
