ASD Teaching Assistant - Core Subject Support
Remedy Education are looking for a confident and academically strong ASD Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school based in Greenwich.
This role is ideal for someone with strong knowledge across the core subjects, including Maths, English and Science, who is passionate about supporting pupils with autism and additional needs. The school are looking for a proactive, patient and resilient Teaching Assistant who can help students access learning, build confidence and make strong academic progress.
Role Details:
Position: ASD Teaching Assistant
Location: Greenwich
Pay: £95-£115 per day
Hours: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP / September roles available
School Type: SEN / Secondary School Setting
The Role:
As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support pupils with autism and additional learning needs
* Provide academic support across Maths, English and Science
* Work 1:1 and with small groups to help pupils access the curriculum
* Break down learning tasks and adapt resources to suit individual needs
* Support communication, confidence, engagement and emotional regulation
* Encourage pupils to stay focused and develop independence in their learning
* Help manage behaviour calmly and consistently where required
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to monitor progress
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* A high level of education in core subjects, especially Maths, English and Science
* Previous experience supporting pupils with ASD or SEN
* Confidence supporting secondary-aged pupils with academic work
* A patient, calm and resilient approach
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* A degree or strong academic background is desirable
* A genuine passion for helping pupils with additional needs succeed
* An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
