Ready to take the next step without jumping straight into Account Executive?

Perhaps you're an experienced Commercial Account Handler, Client Manager or Account Manager who enjoys working closely with clients but doesn't want the pressure of chasing new business every day.

Or maybe you're already mentoring colleagues and would like the chance to develop your leadership skills while continuing to manage your own portfolio.

If so, this opportunity could be exactly what you've been waiting for.

CKB Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a highly respected and rapidly growing independent insurance broker that is continuing to invest heavily in its Commercial Division. Due to ongoing expansion, they have one final opportunity available for an experienced Commercial Account Manager who is looking to play a bigger role within the business.

This isn't your typical servicing position.

Alongside managing your own portfolio of commercial clients, you'll work closely with the Commercial Director, providing day-to-day support with team organisation, mentoring Client Managers and helping ensure the department continues to deliver an exceptional level of service.

It's an ideal stepping stone for someone who wants to develop leadership experience whilst remaining hands-on with clients.

The Role

You'll become a trusted adviser to a varied portfolio of commercial clients, taking ownership of their insurance programmes and delivering a proactive, consultative service throughout the year.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing renewals from inception through to completion
Negotiating terms and premiums with insurers
Providing technical advice across a broad range of commercial risks
Building long-term relationships with clients and becoming their trusted insurance adviser
Attending client meetings and renewal presentations
Supporting more complex insurance placements alongside senior colleagues
Identifying opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships
Assisting the Commercial Director with the day-to-day management and organisation of the Client Manager team
Coaching and supporting colleagues where requiredThis role offers genuine variety, combining technical insurance work, client relationship management and leadership exposure, all without the pressure of a heavily target-driven new business role.

About You

We're looking to speak with experienced Commercial Insurance professionals who enjoy building relationships just as much as they enjoy finding the right insurance solutions.

You could currently be working as a:

Commercial Account Handler
Senior Commercial Account Handler
Client Manager
Commercial Insurance Broker
Commercial Account ManagerYou'll ideally bring:

Several years' experience within commercial insurance
Strong technical knowledge across a range of commercial products
Experience managing relationships with both clients and insurers
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Confidence attending client meetings and discussing insurance programmes
A proactive, solutions-focused approach
Experience of products such as Commercial Combined, Property, Liability, Motor Fleet, Construction, Cyber and Professional Indemnity would be highly advantageous

What's on Offer?

Alongside a competitive salary of £40,000-£50,000, you'll receive an excellent benefits package including:

Performance bonus
Hybrid working (Mondays and Fridays from home)
25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
Private Healthcare
Company pension
Death in Service cover
Free gym membership
Complimentary Pilates classes
Commission-free Home, Motor and Travel Insurance
Genuine career progression into senior leadership or Account Executive responsibilities

Why This Opportunity?

Opportunities like this don't come along often.

This role has been designed for someone who enjoys the technical side of commercial insurance but is ready for greater influence, stronger client relationships and the chance to develop management experience within a growing, forward-thinking brokerage.

If you're looking for a business that genuinely invests in its people and offers a clear route for progression, we'd love to hear from you.
