Project Planner

Location: Burton upon Trent
Salary: Competitive + Benefits

An established engineering and technical services business is looking to recruit an experienced Project Planner to support both live projects and tender submissions. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation delivering complex engineering and technical projects across the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining project programmes, supporting bid submissions, monitoring project performance, and ensuring key milestones are achieved throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

*

Develop and maintain project schedules using MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar planning software.

*

Produce bid and tender programmes with realistic timelines and delivery strategies.

*

Monitor project progress, critical paths, programme risks, and overall performance.

*

Collaborate with engineering, procurement, commercial, and project delivery teams.

*

Prepare planning reports, dashboards, and look-ahead schedules.

*

Support resource planning and workload forecasting.

*

Assist with programme updates, change management, and risk mitigation activities.

Requirements

*

Previous experience as a Project Planner, Bid Planner, or Project Controls professional.

*

Experience within engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure, or other technical project environments.

*

Strong understanding of project lifecycles, planning methodologies, and critical path analysis.

*

Proficient in MS Project, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office.

*

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

*

Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Planning, or a related discipline are desirable.

Desirable Experience

*

Experience within engineered-to-order or project manufacturing environments.

*

Knowledge of bid and tender processes and Earned Value Management (EVM).

*

APM, PRINCE2, PMI, or equivalent project management qualifications would be advantageous.
