The Supply Register is working in partnership with Tyne Coast College, South Tyneside Campus, to recruit a dedicated and experienced Part-Time Maths Lecturer to support students across Functional Skills Maths and GCSE Maths programmes.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled Maths educator to deliver high-quality teaching, support learner development, and contribute to positive student outcomes within a Further Education setting.
The Role
The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons that develop students’ understanding, confidence, and practical application of mathematical skills. You will support learners through assessment, feedback, and targeted intervention to help them achieve their qualifications.
Responsibilities include:
Delivering high-quality Maths teaching across Functional Skills and GCSE Maths courses
Planning lessons that engage and support learners with a range of abilities
Assessing learner progress and providing effective feedback
Supporting students with examination preparation
Adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning needs
Maintaining accurate learner records
Contributing to curriculum development and improvement activities
Working positively with colleagues to support student achievement
Promoting safeguarding and an inclusive learning environment
Working Pattern
24 hours per week – timetable dependent
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
A Level 3 or Level 5 qualification in Maths
A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent
Experience teaching Maths within a Further Education environment
Strong communication and organisational skills
A commitment to learner success, safeguarding, and continuous professional development
