Delivering projects across the North West, they specialise in new build, refurbishment, maintenance, electrical, and joinery services, working across sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, industrial, retail, residential, and leisure.

As part of their continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Planner to join their Operations team based at their Head Office in Grimsargh, Preston.

The Role

As Planner, you will be responsible for:

Managing the tender and contract planning functions across multiple construction projects

Producing, maintaining, and reviewing tender and contract programmes

Working closely with Site Managers and Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered safely and on programme

Monitoring project progress and updating programmes throughout the project lifecycle

Supporting contract teams with short-term, target, and revised construction programmes

Carrying out regular site progress reviews and reporting findings to senior management

Identifying programme risks and implementing recovery strategies where required

Building and maintaining strong client relationships throughout project delivery

Ensuring all planning documentation is accurate and reflects current project progress

Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry best practice, planning techniques, and software

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Planner will have:

Proven experience as a Planner within a Main Contractor environment

Comprehensive knowledge of construction planning and project programming

Strong understanding of construction methodologies and engineering principles

Experience producing and managing tender and live project programmes

Good working knowledge of planning software such as Asta Powerproject and/or Primavera P6

Excellent project management and organisational skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Confident presentation and stakeholder management skills

High attention to detail with a methodical approach to work

Strong IT skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
