The Role
As a Town Planner, you will be responsible for managing planning applications, providing strategic planning advice, and supporting clients through the planning process from inception to determination.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals
Conducting planning policy research and site appraisals
Producing planning statements and supporting reports
Liaising with local authorities, consultees, and stakeholders
Advising clients on planning risks and opportunities
Managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively
Supporting business development activities where appropriate
About You
The successful candidate will possess:
A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
MRTPI status or working towards chartership (preferred)
Previous experience within a planning consultancy, local authority, or developer environment
Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
Excellent report writing and communication skills
The ability to work independently while remaining a proactive team player
Strong organisational and project management skills
