Alexander Steele Recruitment are working with an established food manufacturing business in Birmingham who are looking to strengthen their engineering team with the addition of a Maintenance Engineer.
The ideal candidate will have a solid electrical and/or mechanical engineering background gained within a manufacturing environment, with experience maintaining, fault finding and improving production machinery.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across production equipment to maximise uptime and minimise downtime.
* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults efficiently, ensuring production targets and quality standards are maintained.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and overall equipment performance.
* Carry out electrical fault finding, including work with sensors, motors, drives and control systems.
* Carry out mechanical maintenance activities including repairs, servicing, adjustments and component replacements.
* Work closely with production teams to resolve breakdowns quickly and safely, minimising disruption to operations.
* Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with company health and safety standards and engineering procedures.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and support the delivery of engineering KPIs across the site.
On Offer
* £46,000 - £47,000 p.a. dependent on experience
* Flexibility required across shifts: 6.00am – 2.00pm, 2.00pm – 10.00pm and 7.00am – 3.30pm.
* 20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays, workplace pension
