Teaching Assistant Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Birmingham from September. This is a full-time position supporting an individual pupil on a one-to-one basis throughout the academic year.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the pupil's communication, learning, and overall wellbeing, working closely with teaching staff to provide consistent, high-quality support. As continuity is essential for the pupil, applicants must be able to commit to the role for the entire academic year.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have:
Fluency in both Arabic and English is essential
Experience using Makaton and other Alternative or Augmentative Communication (AAC) methods is essential
Previous experience supporting children with additional needs, ideally in a school setting
A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to supporting individual learning needs
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
