Transport Administrator
Location: Hams Hall
Salary: £28,500 - £33,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (occasional weekend cover may be required) 3 Shifts Available
I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established logistics business for 3 x Transport Administrator's to join their busy transport team based in Hams Hall.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in transport, logistics or administration who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is looking to develop their career within a growing business.
The Role
As a Transport Administrator, you'll provide administrative support to the transport operation, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support for the day-to-day transport operation.
Assist with coordinating UK transport contracts.
Support the management of drivers and daily transport activities.
Monitor and update customer and departmental KPI reports.
Schedule vehicles and trailers for servicing, maintenance, and inspections.
Record and action vehicle damages and defects.
Support transport compliance by ensuring all vehicles, trailers, and drivers remain compliant.
Carry out vehicle gatehouse checks and maintain accurate records.
Book agency drivers when required.
Liaise with customers and keep them informed of any transport issues or delays.
Track vehicles using Webfleet.
Complete transport invoicing accurately and within deadlines.
Provide holiday cover across the transport department.
Update training records and departmental documentation.
Log operational issues and assist with resolving them.
Manage third-party transport suppliers.
Monitor fuel card and AdBlue usage.
Support departmental and company-wide improvement projects.
Provide occasional weekend cover when required.
About You
Previous experience within transport, logistics, fleet, or administration.
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach.
Able to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a busy environment.
Competent with Microsoft Office and transport management systems.
Experience using Webfleet or similar vehicle tracking software would be advantageous.
