Senior Accountant Job Overview
Accounts preparation and review - Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements whilst identifying opportunities to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
Tax compliance and strategic planning - Overseeing the preparation and submission of VAT and corporation tax returns, providing proactive tax planning and commercially focused advice to support tax-efficient business decisions.
Client relationship management - Acting as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, developing trusted relationships, managing day-to-day queries, and delivering tailored financial and commercial advice.
Business consultancy and advisory - Supporting business owners with strategic planning, management reporting, business structuring, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, and performance improvement initiatives. Advising clients on business growth, succession planning, acquisitions, disposals, and long-term value creation through insightful financial analysis.
Team leadership and development - Supervising, mentoring, and reviewing the work of junior accountants and trainees, providing technical guidance and supporting their professional development.
Practice growth and value-added services - Identifying opportunities to enhance client service through additional advisory offerings, helping clients make informed commercial decisions and achieve sustainable business growth.Senior Accountant Job Requirements
Must be at least part ACA/ACCA qualified, being fully qualified is advantageous
A minimum of 3 years UK practice experience
Previous experience of preparing Statutory Accounts, CT600s, Partnership returns & ITRS (Self Assessments)
Experience of supervising and assisting juniors
Preferable but not essential, experience of using accounts production software like CCH and other packages like Myworkpapers, Sage, Xero etc.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
Able to commute into Central LondonSenior Accountant Salary & Benefits
Salary dependent on experience, from £(phone number removed)
