We are recruiting on behalf of an established independent insurance provider based in Shoreham-by-Sea, supported by the strength, expertise and backing of a leading global insurance organisation. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Internal Insurance Auditor to join their team and play a key role in maintaining high standards of compliance, governance and customer outcomes across their distribution network.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an insurance audit professional who enjoys working with detail, identifying risks, challenging processes and ensuring that best practice is consistently achieved.

The role is primarily desktop-based, with occasional travel to customer and partner sites required to complete audits, build relationships and support ongoing quality improvements.

The Role

As Internal Insurance Auditor, you will be responsible for reviewing and assessing the full sales journey across brokers, third-party agents and sub-agents. You will ensure that all parties are operating within agreed processes, regulatory requirements and FCA expectations, while maintaining a strong focus on delivering the right outcomes for customers.

You will act as a key point of oversight, providing assurance that sales activity, documentation, contracts and compliance controls are operating effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct internal audits across broker, third-party agent and sub-agent networks.
Review sales processes to ensure customers are receiving appropriate advice, products and outcomes.
Assess whether sales activities meet internal criteria, regulatory expectations and FCA requirements.
Ensure customer documentation is accurate, complete and issued in line with regulatory standards.
Review contracts, agreements and supporting documentation to confirm the correct processes are being followed.
Identify areas of risk, non-compliance or process improvement opportunities.
Produce clear, detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations and agreed actions.
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to improve compliance standards.
Monitor corrective actions and ensure improvements are embedded effectively.
Keep up to date with UK insurance regulations, FCA guidance and industry expectations.
About You

You will be an experienced insurance audit professional with a strong eye for detail and a natural ability to identify inconsistencies, risks and opportunities for improvement.

You will thrive in a role where accuracy, investigation and attention to detail are critical. You will be comfortable challenging processes, asking the right questions and ensuring that standards are not only met but continuously improved.

To be successful, you will have:

Previous experience working within an insurance auditing role (essential).
Strong understanding of the UK insurance market and FCA regulatory requirements.
Experience auditing brokers, agents, sales teams or insurance distribution networks.
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to reviewing information.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret processes, documentation and contracts.
The confidence to communicate audit findings professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
A proactive mindset with a passion for compliance, governance and customer outcomes.
What’s On Offer

Salary from £35,000pa - £40,000pa DOE
Monday to Friday working hours, 9:00am - 5:00pm.
Hybrid working available after three months, with the opportunity to work from home 2-3 days per week.
Great company benefits including 34 days holiday (excluding bank holidays) & increasing for years of service
