Logistics & Inventory Coordinator
Location: West Sussex
Type: Contract
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a cutting-edge engineering and technology business operating within a highly regulated, fast-paced environment. We're looking for a proactive and organised Logistics & Inventory Coordinator to support the efficient flow of materials, inventory, and components across the business.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in logistics, stores, warehouse operations, inventory control, or production support who enjoys working in a hands-on engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Stores Management
Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels
Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
Support the organisation and optimisation of storage locations
Parts Picking & Material Control
Accurately pick and prepare components for production or dispatch
Ensure correct quantities and part numbers are issued
Maintain high levels of accuracy and traceability
Quarantine & Rework Processes
Identify and segregate non-conforming materials
Manage quarantine procedures in accordance with company processes
Coordinate rework activities and maintain supporting documentation
Supplier & Purchasing Support
Liaise with suppliers regarding deliveries, shortages, quality concerns and returns
Work closely with purchasing teams to highlight stock requirements
Support purchase order tracking and expediting activities
Shipping & Dispatch
Prepare goods for shipment, ensuring appropriate packaging and documentation
Coordinate deliveries with logistics providers and couriers
Track shipments and help resolve delivery issues
What We're Looking For
Previous experience within logistics, inventory control, warehouse operations or stores
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to prioritise workload and work independently
Experience using ERP, MRP or inventory management systems would be advantageous
Confident working within a fast-moving engineering or manufacturing environment
