Plant & Logistics Manager - Specialist Civil Engineering
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Plant & Logistics Manager to join a well-established specialist contractor operating within the civil engineering and infrastructure sector.
Based at the company's facility in Telford, you'll take responsibility for managing warehouse operations, plant logistics, stock control, procurement and site facilities, ensuring plant and materials are available to support projects across the UK.
This is a varied role offering the opportunity to play a key part in supporting major infrastructure projects within a collaborative and safety-focused environment.
The Role
Reporting into the management team, you'll oversee the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and plant facility, ensuring efficient logistics, compliance and operational support across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and plant facility.
Coordinate the transportation of plant, equipment and materials to sites across the UK.
Maintain accurate records of plant movements and equipment to support commercial reporting and invoicing.
Manage stock levels and procurement of key materials and components.
Coordinate incoming deliveries, including international shipments where required.
Support the Commercial Team with accurate operational and financial reporting.
Manage supplier relationships and negotiate purchasing requirements.
Ensure plant, lifting equipment and tools are inspected, maintained and compliant with relevant legislation.
Coordinate the return, inspection and reporting of plant and materials from project sites.
Maintain a safe, organised and compliant warehouse environment.
Ensure waste management and environmental compliance standards are maintained.
Support operational teams with plant and logistics requirements.
About You
You'll ideally have:
Previous experience managing warehouse, plant or logistics operations within construction, engineering or infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of plant and equipment management.
Experience coordinating transport and logistics.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across operational and commercial teams.
A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong commitment to health and safety.
Desirable
Construction or civil engineering industry experience.
Forklift Licence.
LOLER Certification.
PAT Testing qualification.
CSCS Card.
Knowledge of specialist construction plant.
Willingness to travel across the UK when required.
