Interim Asset & Estates Surveyor

Location: Rugby, Warwickshire (Hybrid – 1–2 days per week on site)
Contract: Interim – Initial 6-month contract
Rate: £358.73 per day PAYE
Lynx Employment is recruiting on behalf of a public sector client for an experienced Interim Asset & Estates Surveyor to join their Property Team on an initial six-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified estates professional to play a key role in managing a diverse commercial and corporate property portfolio, supporting the organisation's asset management strategy, and delivering strategic property initiatives.

## The Role

As Interim Asset & Estates Surveyor, you will lead on the management and delivery of the commercial portfolio and corporate property asset strategy. You will oversee acquisitions and disposals, estates management, lease negotiations, asset data management, and provide expert professional advice across a wide range of service areas.
You will also act as Deputy to the Property Manager on Estates Management matters when required.

## Key Responsibilities

Lead the production, implementation and review of the Commercial and Corporate Asset Management Strategy.

Manage a commercial property portfolio to maximise financial returns while delivering wider organisational benefits.

Deliver asset management objectives for a major commercial asset.

Negotiate and manage property acquisitions, disposals, leases, licences and easements.

Prepare heads of terms and work closely with Legal Services on property documentation.

Manage the performance, inventory and ownership records of property assets.

Maintain and update property ownership information within GIS and Asset Management systems.

Manage estates records, deeds and lease data, ensuring compliance and data accuracy.

Identify and manage estate-related risks including trespass, encroachment and adverse possession.

Provide strategic estates advice to internal departments including Housing, Planning, Legal, Finance and Property Services.

Respond to Freedom of Information requests and complex estates enquiries.

Manage leaseholder matters including alterations, permissions, service charge enquiries and major works consultations.

Liaise with senior stakeholders, consultants and external partners to support effective asset management.
## About You

We're looking for an experienced Asset & Estates Surveyor who has:

Proven experience managing commercial and corporate property portfolios within a public sector environment.
Strong knowledge of estates management, landlord and tenant matters, acquisitions and disposals.
Experience negotiating leases, licences, easements and other property agreements.
Excellent understanding of property legislation and estates management best practice.
Experience maintaining asset management databases and property records (Technology Forge, QGIS or similar systems desirable).
Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
RICS, a professional asset or estates qualification or equivalent
