A growing construction consultancy in London is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join its established team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager with some consultancy experience to deliver smaller projects with support while assisting senior colleagues on larger commercial and hotel schemes.
The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Project Managers and Directors, gaining experience across the full project lifecycle. This Assistant Project Manager role would suit an ambitious Assistant Project Manager who wants greater responsibility and a structured route towards chartership. The successful Assistant Project Manager will join a supportive consultancy with a strong record of helping employees achieve MRICS, including supporting a Project Manager through chartership last year.
You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.
The Assistant Project Manager's role
The Assistant Project Manager will support a portfolio made up primarily of commercial projects, alongside a selection of hotel schemes.
The Assistant Project Manager will take responsibility for smaller projects with guidance while helping Directors deliver larger and more complex commissions. Duties will include programme management, consultant coordination, procurement support, project reporting, risk tracking, meeting management, contract administration, and contractor liaison.
The Assistant Project Manager will also attend client and site meetings, maintain project documentation, monitor actions, and help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
The Assistant Project Manager
The successful Assistant Project Manager will have:
Construction consultancy project management experience
Experience supporting commercial projects
Hotel project experience would be advantageous
The ability to deliver smaller projects with some assistance
A relevant degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related subject
A desire to achieve MRICS or another relevant professional qualification
Knowledge of JCT contracts
Strong communication, organisation, and client-facing skills
A proactive and dependable approach
