Hourly rate: £15.31
Location: Shirehall Shrewsbury Shropshire SY2 6ND/ Hybird
Hours: 37 Monday-Friday
Contract: 3 months with review for extension
Role Overview:
As a Network Co-ordinator, you'll play a key role in helping Shropshire Council meet its statutory duties under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004.
You'll support the coordination of all activities on the highway network, managing permits, assessing licence applications, reviewing traffic management proposals, and helping to minimise disruption for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Working within a supportive team, you'll primarily focus on assessing permits and some licenses. You'll develop strong working relationships with utility companies, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring that works on the highway are safe, compliant, and well-coordinated.
What you'll do:
Assess permit, licence, and traffic management applications across your geographical area.
Help coordinate works to reduce congestion and protect the safety and integrity of the highway.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support collaborative working and innovative approaches.
Prepare clear, professional responses to customer enquiries, complaints, MP correspondence and other formal requests.
Support compliance activities, including identifying evidence for potential Section 74 overruns or Fixed Penalty Notices.What you'll bring:
