Quantity Surveyor
Location: Burnley
Salary: Negotiable
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor with 2–3 years' experience to join a well-established main contractor with a strong pipeline of commercial construction projects.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a collaborative commercial team, working on a diverse range of new build and refurbishment projects across sectors including commercial, industrial, residential, retail, leisure and public sector developments. The business has a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development.
Working alongside Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, you'll play a key role in the commercial management of multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Responsibilities
* Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
* Preparing and reviewing tender enquiries and subcontract documentation.
* Processing subcontractor applications and valuations.
* Measuring and valuing variations.
* Assisting with monthly cost reporting and forecasting.
* Preparing client valuations and supporting final accounts.
* Monitoring project costs and identifying value engineering opportunities.
* Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
* Supporting the commercial team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
About You
* 2–3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
* Experience working for a main contractor is preferred.
* Good understanding of JCT forms of contract.
* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Degree qualified or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
