About the Company

Our client is a well-established construction and refurbishment contractor with a strong pipeline of secured projects across the North West. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor who enjoys managing projects from pre-construction through to final account while working within a supportive and growing business.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of your projects from the outset, managing the commercial aspects to ensure successful delivery while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and site teams.

Initially, you'll be involved in preparing project schedules and supporting the pre-construction phase before moving onto a live refurbishment project that is ready to commence immediately.

This is a role that offers a high level of autonomy, with the expectation that you'll effectively manage your own workload and diary between the office and project sites.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the commercial delivery of refurbishment and fit-out projects from inception through to final account.
Prepare project cost plans, budgets and schedules.
Procure and manage subcontractor packages.
Produce valuations, variations and applications for payment.
Monitor project costs and ensure budgets are maintained.
Prepare cost reports and financial forecasts.
Negotiate subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
Work closely with operational teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
Attend site meetings and client meetings as required.
About You

We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a proven background in refurbishment projects who is confident working independently and taking ownership of multiple commercial responsibilities.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Strong refurbishment experience is essential.
Ability to manage projects independently and organise your own workload.
Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable

Fit-out project experience.
Experience operating at Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor level.
