Assistant Site Manager - New Build

Role
We are currently recruiting for an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join a bespoke, privately owned developer on their flagship residential scheme in Eddington, Cambridge.
The development consists of 160 units across a mix of houses and low-rise apartment blocks. With the structures now completed on the first phase, the project has moved into the internal fit-out stage, and we are looking for an Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of the internal works package through to completion.
Reporting directly to the Project Director, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the project, assisting with subcontractor coordination, quality inspections, programme management, and health & safety to ensure the development is delivered to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
* Support the Project Director in delivering the internal fit-out programme from first fix through to handover.
* Coordinate and monitor subcontractors on site to ensure works are completed safely, on time, and to specification.
* Carry out quality inspections and assist with managing snagging and defect resolution.
* Help maintain the construction programme and monitor progress against key milestones.
* Promote and enforce high standards of health, safety, and site housekeeping.
* Assist with material deliveries, logistics, and site coordination.
* Build strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and the wider project team.
* Support customer care and handover activities to ensure a first-class finished product.
Requirements
* Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager within residential construction.
* Internal fit-out experience on housing or apartment developments is desirable.
* Good understanding of construction processes, quality standards, and health & safety legislation.
* Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
* A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to progress into a Site Manager position.
* SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification preferred.
