Kettering
Hours - Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs
Salary - £28k plus benefits
A successful and growing organisation based in Kettering is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting career, with the potential for the business to support AAT study up to Level 4.
Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance operations, with responsibility for purchase ledger activities across multiple business entities.
Full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to progress within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Registering incoming purchase ledger invoices and ensuring they are routed for approval
Processing invoices against purchase orders following authorisation
Managing purchase invoice entry and supplier payments via BACS and Faster Payments
Processing employee expenses and company credit card transactions
Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries
Maintaining accurate purchase ledger records
Supporting sales ledger customer data management, including new account setup and amendments
Providing cover and support for colleagues within the finance teamAbout You:
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Essential:
AAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT Professional Level (Level 4)
Previous purchase ledger experience
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines
A proactive and flexible approach to work
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Good IT skills and confidence using finance systemsDesirable:
Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Customer Engagement systemsBenefits Include:
